Supplies For Coal Gasification
To start the coal gasification process, a certain temperature and a certain pressure are required. To achieve this, the gasifier is brought to the desired temperature and pressure by means of high-power burners.
Since the beginning of the coal gasification we served as a partner, already at a time when energy efficiency was not further considered. In 1985, we provided the main burner for the first pilot plant at Puertollano in Spain, where the technology provider was Uhde. Not only carbon but also biogenic feedstocks were used in this technique.
The first pilot plant in Buggenum in the Netherlands was taken in operation 1998. For this plant we supplied the hot gas generator for the coal grinding and drying in addition to the burners, the technology provider was Shell. Both systems represent the "Integrated Gasification Closed Cycle" technology, abbr. IGCC, which can increase the overall efficiency of a power plant by up to 50%. We therefore actively contribute to an efficient emission reduction. Brinkmann is listed at Shell global solutions as "Authorized vendor" and has implemented all projects up to 2012 as a partner of Chinese customers. We are pioneer in the field of coal gasification and have always developed our solutions.
